This will probably not come as a surprise to many of you, but part of me deeply appreciates paperwork. I've always known it, and it only got stronger after my time working in HR. Similar to Amy from Brooklyn 99, I find it incredibly satisfying to complete forms and solve bureaucratic puzzles. Something about filling in boxes and selecting checkboxes is downright soothing at times. I'm the person who prepped their own divorce paperwork (in triplicate, obviously).
So when I tell you that our Visa application process has been so stressful that I am losing sleep over it, you know its bad. Because of the type of Visa we are applying for, technically Justin & I are on the same application. So when they ask questions like "List every country outside your country of passport that every person associated with this visa application has visited in the last 10 years (including dates & reason for visit)" you know the answer is going to be lengthy. I have spent hours filling out the actual application, plus all of the drafting, uploading and formatting of corroborating documentation.
...And somehow I'm still stuck in application limbo, waiting for our health insurance coverage to be updated from single to dual. I just want this to be submitted to I can start stressing about how long it's going to take them to process the application!
Until then, I will be carefully labeling and re-labeling all my required documentation in an appeasement to the bureaucracy gods
